American Pancakes

American Pancakes

A quick and easy recipe to get fluffy American pancakes, a breakfast staple in every home. The perfect recipe loved by many.

This recipe will ensure you consistently get light and fluffy pancakes every time. They taste best when paired with fruit, maple syrup and any other toppings your heart desires!

Credits definitely go to Jamie Oliver for a quick and fool proof recipe.

Ingredients

3 large free range eggs
115 grams plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
140 ml milk
pinch of salt

Method

1. Separate the egg whites and the egg yolk in two bowls. Keep them both as you'll need to use them.

2. Mix the flour, baking powder, milk and egg yolks in a bowl to form a smooth thick mixture.

3. Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt using a whisk or electrical whisk until you have stiff
peaks.

4. Fold in the egg whites to the thick yolk mixture and it is now ready to use.

5. Use a non stick pan and pour the batter onto the pan in a circle. It is important you do not add butter or oil to the pan as you will not get a classic American pancake finish and your pancake will not be smooth.

6. Once you being to see little holes on the top of your pancake, flip it over to a perfectly golden brown top. Let the bottom of your pancake cook then transfer it on to a plate.

7. Continue cooking your pancakes until your batter is finished.

8. You can serve these pancakes several different ways, with butter and maple syrup or you may want to add some fresh strawberries and chocolate spread.

Let me know in the comments if you've tried the recipe! I'd love to know.
